'GRID COLLECTION' Approx. height 25cm. High fired paper clay with oxides.

"I make high fired sculptural paperclay, referencing the past. Paperclay is a perfect material for capturing the scratched and ‘found’ qualities and patinas of surfaces or utensils changed by the effects of use and time. I want my pieces to be ‘friendly’ and bring to mind objects the viewer might once have seen or handled."

"I enjoy the interaction between the forms and often make composite or grouped works. They are slab constructed and sometimes impressed with the marks (memories) of fabric or metal."

Carol Farrow’s work can be seen illustrated in books on paperclay having been a pioneer of working with this material. For example 'Working with Paperclay' by Anne Lightwood, published by Crowood Press, and 'La Terre Papier' by Liliane Tardio-Brise, published by Eyrolles.
